| | My trip to the old Cathay. I bought my ticket in London Prior to my departure to HK. I wished I kept a day to day diary of what I had done as I felt I did so much within 10 days. I blame my laziness for that nevertheless.
For most of the 10 days I spent with Amus, going to places around N.T, exploring little villages, a mini trip to Macau, eating at (in)famous spots of HK, taking long walks around HK, Kowloon.

My stay for the 10 days was along Robinson Rd around midlevels. An area very close to central where the hub of HK's crazy financial 3 tier system seems to work in such a small space. On every main street, one would find little cornors of alley ways serving some of the nicest food and drinks in scenes which have not changed for at least 20 years. I was very glad to have met up with Darren (Dubwise) to do a set near the Lan kwai area. Heavy Dubstep to Jump Up dnb !!! it did make me very energetic! It was strange just hanging out with him around HK as it felt like BHC days but in a very unfamilar terriorty. HK's success is due to the many Scottish mercants known as Tai Pans gave way to one of Asia's major financial hub. Till to this day there is an air of of this legacy that remains when walks around the many selected street names of old Scottish family names. HK's heart beats to commercialism in ways that the local chinese seem to share something very similar with their Scottish counter parts. Hard work & prudence.
There was this G.O.D muesem/shop near Kowloon Tong which presented a little history of the nostaglic side of HK. For some reason it reminded me a little of growing up in S'pore, though not quite it! Overall I feel HK is such an unsual fastinating place of a cocktail of East meets west. If anything I feel there is still a lot more to discover of the new Cathay!
The 2nd photo is this series, I wanted to skate. Next time I will bring my board along and quickly session this before I get kicked out by some security guard. This Building is owned by Swire group. I wonder what it would be liked to work for them? Till then, till my next HK trip!
